Annie B. is the nickname the artist's father gave her as a child. In honor of his memory and her admiration for how he followed his passion late in life, becoming a sculptor, Ann decided to use her nickname for her own new-found passion.
As a young girl, Ann's passions were dance and choreography so she graduated with a bachelor's degree in dance. Eventually the body gave out, but what drew her to dance and choreography remained deep inside: the flow of movement, shapes and color and the desire to create dances that touch universal experiences and emotions.
Twelve years ago she found meaningful work as a psychotherapist in Westchester, NY, specializing in women's issues. But, she felt there was still more she wanted to do with her creativity. Three years ago her creativity was unleashed when she happened upon some beads as a craft for her older daughter and started to work with them herself. She has been making jewelry ever since.
Annie B. jewelry is all handcrafted, using semi precious stones. Her style is elegant and earthy. "I like to create jewelry for what I call the dress up, dress down look, jewelry that swings either way, depending on your mood." |
